With historic buildings, the façade is often the most important aspect, on immediate display to visitors and shared by the community. It also protects the core masonry of the building from environmental damage, so that the load-bearing stones aren’t weathered away. If your building’s façade is damaged beyond repair, or if your masonry could do with protection, we’ll design and install a new, fitting façade.

Our façades can be constructed using a variety of materials, including terracotta. These will be selected and sourced to be an appropriate fit for the original building, matching the materials and methods of the time period. Our expert stonemasons are also able to carve and shape the stones to add beautiful decorative elements to your building’s new façade.

Natural stone cladding is a great way to protect the core masonry from wind, rain and the ravages of time. We source stone of all types, from slate to sandstone, working with you to make a selection that preserves the spirit of your historic building.

Sometimes the effects of water on stone can be so bad that drastic action must be taken. Descaling is a process that we don’t undertake lightly, yet it is often necessary, especially with natural stone constructions. As descaling leaves the stone slightly recessed, we’ll carefully redress the stone afterwards, ensuring that the building looks as it did originally.
