Masonry Works
Not surprisingly, given its location, the main reception building at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park is designed to impress in every detail. However, from our standpoint as the project’s specialist stone fixing contractor, it also required the most extraordinary attention to detail.
Our first task was to produce a detailed working design, based on the architect’s original drawings, in order to produce the required “jigsaw” finish. We then had to source, detail, manufacture and erect each separate bespoke piece of stone to match that design. What’s more, this wasn’t just a matter of producing a striking façade. To do full justice to the architect’s vision, we had to create an intricate stonework “jigsaw” structure that looks magnificent from inside the building too.“The stonework at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park was a critical element in the
