Masonry Works
The main reception building at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park is designed to impress in every detail. Attention to detail was critical in order to achieve the architect’s vision. We were therefore pleased to have been awarded such a prestigious contract that demanded the highest calibre of craftsmanship.
Our first task was to produce a detailed working design, based on the architect’s original drawings, in order to produce the required “jigsaw” finish. We then had to source, detail, manufacture and erect each separate bespoke piece of stone to match that design. What’s more, this wasn’t just a matter of producing a striking façade. To do full justice to the architect’s vision, we had to create an intricate stonework “jigsaw” structure that looks magnificent from inside the building too.
“The stonework at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park was a critical element in the design and demanded a high degree of skill from the masons. Bullen Conservation responded well to the challenge and were very cooperative in their approach. We were very happy with the finished work which is a credit to all concerned.”
