Wentworth Castle which is run as the Northern College, Barnsley; involved external repair works together with major masonry
works to the main house with full property redevelopment to the castle’s Hamlet/Farm and Church to form further
accommodation blocks, visitor centre and restaurant all with existing local sandstone.
Working as Package Contractors to Quarmby Construction, our scope included façade cleaning, repointing, masonry carving, indenting and full take down and rebuild to all elevations considered unstable.
All works were carried out using our own cards-in craftsmen ensuring full quality was maintained at all times.
Particular attention again was given to timescales to ensure sectional completions were achieved whilst
working on a live and active running college which meant full client liaison and regular
technical meetings to ensure cost constraints were met at all times.
