We were approached by the Historical Engineering Consultants, Charles Beckett Ord, to carry out the structural stabilisation of this structure. In order to achieve this objective we installed specialist Cintec Anchors which in effect tied the building together. Therefore limiting any structural movement and prevent the risk of structural collapse.
The location of Longwood Tower posed a number of issues because it is on public ground and does not have any vehicle access.
Careful planning and programming became an essential part of delievering this scheme. As principal contractor we ensured that all sub-contractors adhered to environmental conditions and health & safety guidelines. It was imperative that this work was done whilst still maintaining the original character of the building. We believe that we achieved this objective and have been commended for achieving this aim.
