This iconic memorial was built nearly one hundred years ago in honour of Lord Ashton, a former businessman and philanthropist from Lancaster who became a millionaire from selling linoleum.
Following a grant from the Lottery Fund we were asked by the local residents to restore this much loved memorial back to its former glory after years of neglect. In order to achieve these objectives we repaired and replaced failed sections of masonry as well as redecorating the bronze signage.
